How to Apply for your Fashion Course


Applying to the British School of Fashion is straight-forward and our expert team are here to help.


Candidates can apply by clicking ‘Apply now’ on our course pages.


You will need to fill in the application form with a few details about yourself before attaching:

  • Your academic certificates from your previous studies
  • Your academic transcripts including the details of the marks you have received in each module.
  • A personal statement stating why you wish to study with us
  • Two references (Either 2 academic references or 1 academic and 1 employer reference)
  • Your English language certificates (if applicable)
  • A copy of your CV (for MBA Candidates only)


(Any documents that are not in English, will need to be officially translated.)


Our team will then assess your application and will aim to give you a response within 48 hours.



  • MSc Home/EU £8,400
  • MSc International £12,600*
  • MBA £16,800


These fees are for the entire period of study (12 months for September starters or 16 months for January starters). They are exclusive of accommodation costs.

*Fees for September 2019 will be £12980.


Entry Requirements

For our MSc programmes, you will need a Bachelors Degree of 2.2 or equivalent (International students can find a comparison table here). You do not need to have studied fashion before and you do not need a portfolio.


For our MBA Luxury Brand Management, you will need a Bachelors Degree of 2.2 or equivalent in a business related subject OR 2 years’ worth of managerial work experience.


There is no set deadline to apply for our programmes although we encourage you to make your application as soon as possible in order to give yourself enough time to find accomodation and apply for your VISA (if necessary).


English Language


Students whose first language is not English will be required to have an IELTS certificate at level 6.0 (with no element less than 5.5). Equivalent tests will be considered.


Course Length/Start Dates

January 2019 start date: 21 January 2019

September 2019 start date: 16 September 2019


Our postgraduate courses differ in length, depending whether you start in September (12 months) or January (16 months).


For September starters, you will have your first Trimester from September until January, your second Trimester from January until May and then your final Trimester from May until September.


For January starters you will have your first Trimester from January until May, then you will have a summer break until September. You will then return for your second Trimester from September until January and then your final Trimester from January until May.
